Case Structure

Corrugated fiberboard, or combined board, has two main components: the linerboard and the fluting. Both are made of a special kind of heavy paper called containerboard.

Case Types

The type of product you are packing and how this product will be sold will likely determine which type of case you will need.  The most common box used in packaging is the Regular Slotted Case (RSC).

Case Dimensions

The dimensions of a corrugated box are usually measured from the inside of the box and are expressed as the closed length x width x height. The length is the first dimension provided, followed by the width and height. Typically the length dimension is greater than the width dimensions.

Case Strength

The strength of a corrugated box starts with its material.  A corrugated sheet consists of two major components - linerboard and fluting.

Case Handing

Whenever a process is automated some changes might have to be made to the corrugated cases for proper operation on the machine. Ensure that all your cases are the correct orientation for the machine ordered, either A handing, short panel on the left (our standard), or B handing, short panel on the right.
