Corrugated is a durable, versatile, economical and lightweight material used for shipping containers, packaging and sales displays.
Case Structure
Corrugated fiberboard, or combined board, has two main components: the
linerboard and the fluting. Both are made of a special kind of heavy paper called container board. The fluting is the wavy, fluted paper in between the liners.
Single Face
One linerboard is glued to one fluting. This structure is not used very often for corrugated shipping cases.
Single Wall
The fluting is glued between two sheets of linerboard, also known as Double Face. This is the most common structure for corrugated cases.
Double Wall
Three sheets of linerboard have two flutings in between. Corrugated cases of this structure are used for heavy and/or fragile products.
Triple Wall
Four sheets of linerboard have three flutings in between. Corrugated cases of this structure are typically used for pallet size boxes.
